PLC Engineer

PLC Engineer Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years PLC experience such as Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/Plant PAx, Siemens S7, or GE PAC systems.
  • Experience working in industrial controls with experience in discrete and process environments.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience working with variable frequency drives
  • Experience in client management and interaction
  • Must be able and willing to travel for commissioning and start-up support.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Client is not currently accepting work visas.

PLC Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Provide application/control systems design, architecture, and development for systems of varied complexity.
  • Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet stated customer requirements.
  • Modify program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems.
  • Interact with customers to resolve issues and identify opportunities.
  • Defines scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned work.
  • Manage development efforts, including activities such as assigning tasks to co-workers, conducting project plan reviews, preparing development related documentation, and monitoring cost and resource estimates.
  • Provide technical support and estimates for sales initiatives.
  • Empower team members, while encouraging and fostering their professional development.
  • Provide mentoring opportunities to co-workers


  • HMI experience such as Wonderware Intouch / App Server / System Platform
  • Experience with FactoryTalk View, Cimplicity, Intellution or the like
  • Experience in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, VB, VBA, VB.NET, C, C##-
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
