Software Engineer Automation


Responsibilities include specification, design, development, testing, and implementation of SCADA, Manufacturing Intelligence and MES applications. Primary platforms include Wonderware, Rockwell, and GE. This position involves implementation of systems for packaging automation and process manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of control hardware and software including industry-standard PLC, PAC, SCADA, Historian, and database platforms is required. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set and experience or familiarity with a variety of the following:

  • • SCADA systems: GE Proficy iFix, Wonderware Application Server and InTouch, or Rockwell FactoryTalk View and FactoryTalk View SE
  • • Historians: Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian, GE Proficy Historian, Wonderware Historian, or OSI Pi
  • • OEE/Performance Management Systems: Wonderware Performance, Rockwell FactoryTalk Metrics, or GE PlantApps
  • • Rockwell FactoryTalk Transaction Manager
  • • Analysis/Reporting: SQL Server Reporting Services, Rockwell FactoryTalk Metrics, GE Proficy Real Time Information Portal, or Wonderware Information Server
  • • Databases: Microsoft SQL or Oracle
  • • Programming Languages: Java, VB, C, Python, .NET, SQL, etc.
  • • Virtual server technologies
  • • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012
  • • Cisco switches/routers, Allen-Bradley Stratix switches
  • • This position requires strong analytical skills, basic understanding of project management fundamentals as well as strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, & AutoCAD).
  • • Candidates need to possess effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires an individual who is a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision.


  • • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree


  • • Minimum 2 years of related experience with SCADA, HMI, and MES applications.
